Idyllic Apertures

Have you seen clouds of souls swim above the ocean
Have you seen gray breaths leave their faint bodies
Have you followed one of them beyond the crust of esoteric waves
They open up the knots of water. They carve soft trenches in deep sea
Have you walked down one of those openings ~ made of salt air
Here spirits meet. They draw soot from water. Yet leave fully unveiled
The tranquil apertures of the soul and the sea
Ivory hiding places for our red flesh, its blue pith
Here we take a step, untwine our quietly braided arms
Here we take a step, pour out moldy water settled in our eyes
We hang our heads into the gorge. We inhale the break in the sea
Here we find our own idyllic portals. Walk into our own open chasms
The soul clouds have left the sky. Did you feel them go.
The beating fogs have turned to dew. Did you sense them convert.
The trench in the sea, will let us walk through ~
as long as we empty our opaque white hearts
